Description
Arthritis and Joint Pain Drops may assist with the symptoms of arthritis, gout, muscle spasms, muscle tension, cramps, back pain, sciatica, neuralgia and joint pain.
Our product includes Devil’s Claw has been in common use since the 1900’s for it’s pain relieving and inflammatory properties and Cramp Bark which is used extensively to treat the pain from muscle cramps. The formulation includes a number of herbs which are known to be beneficial for arthritis, joint and muscle pain to maximise the efficacy of the product.
We use vegetable glycerine as our base as it is diabetic friendly (does not cause blood sugar to spike). It also has less side effects than ethanol (alcohol) traditionally used in tinctures. In addition vegetable glycerides are more palatable.
Dosage:
1/2 to 1 teaspoon dissolved in water, 3 times daily
Cautions:
- Do not use if pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Not advisable for use by anyone with acute renal disorders.
- Celery seeds and Alfalfa may cause sensitivity to sunlight.
- Do not use if you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients – if allergic reaction occurs discontinue use.
- Do not use if you have lupus, rheumatic conditions or other auto-immune disorders.
- Willow may occasionally cause side effects of nausea, gastro-intestinal discomfort, diarrhoea, dizziness and a rash.
- Similar effects as well as ringing in the ears are likely if excessive amounts are taken.
- Not recommended for people with asthma, stomach or duodenal ulcers, gall bladder, diabetes, kidney or liver disorders.
- Don’t use if allergic to aspirin or salicylates.
- Should not be taken in combination with diuretics, agents that lower blood pressure or thin the blood, or non-steroidal anti-inflammatories.
- Excessive use can cause mouth sores.
- Do not give to a child under 16 who has a viral illness, e.g. cold, flu or chickenpox.
- Should not be taken by women who have a history of breast cancer and oestrogen-related cancers should also avoid it.
- Should not be taken with agents that lower blood pressure or anticoagulants.
- May interfere with hormonal medication.
- Take with meals.
- Take at least 2 hours apart from any medication containing iron.
- Devil’s claw may interact with therapy for cardiac disorders and antihypertensives.
- Avoid excessive or long-term use without a break.
- May take 3-4 weeks before an improvement is noted. However, as with anti-inflammatories, not all preparations work on all patients.
- Keep out of reach of children.
